Introduction

ผมใช้ Ubuntu มาปีกว่าๆ ตั้งแต่ Version 8.04 ซึ่งได้ Upgrade มาเป็นระยะๆโดย Ubuntu มีระบบ Upgrade อัตโนมัติซึ่งสะดวกมาก ในครั้งนี้ผมก็ Upgrade จาก 9.04 เป็น 9.10 โดยอัตโนมัติเช่นกัน

ให้เครื่อง Upgrade วันที่ 4 พฤษจิกายน 2009 แล้วนอนหลับไป ตื่นมาอีกที่เห็นเครื่อง Hank ระหว่างกำลัง Upgrade จึงต้อง Reset เครื่อง ทำให้เข้า Ubuntu ไม่ได้ต้องลงใหม่ ข้อมูลหายหมด เพราะ Ubuntu ไม่มี D: Drive ที่เก็บข้อมูลแยกออกจาก System เหมือน Windows แต่ที่ร้ายกว่าคือต้องเสียเวลาทำ Config ระบบใหม่เป็นวันๆ อยากลดเวลาโดยใช้ PE หรือ XE ที่ทำ Config มาแล้วให้เป็นไทยๆโดยคุณหมี แห่ง UbuntuClub.com แต่ใช้ไม่ได้เพราะเวลาติดตั้งจอล้มมองไม่เห็น เพราะ Card จอของผมต้องติดตั้งใน Mode Screen safe mode แต่ XE ไม่มี F4 ให้เลือก Screen Safe mode

I have used ubuntu for more than a year since Version 8.04 and auto-upgrade to 9.04 without any problem.

But last night 4 November 2009, I upgrade to 9.10 but the system stop during installation then I have to reinstall it again and loss all my data.

It is time consume to set up all the system as the same or should I use PE Ubuntu.

Configuration required

All the configuration have to start over again that is the time consume. Found:

1. No Microphone
2. Youtube need adobe flash player
3. No Thai language
4. Track ball setup button and scroll
5. Firefox Zoom addon หายไป
6. No screen zoom
7. Loss dual monitor setup.
8. No Tahoma font
9. Mouse pointer size is too small
10. Font ไทยใน Wiki editor ไม่จัดลำดับตัวอักษรดูแล้วตลกดี แต่ก็ทำให้รู้ว่าพิมพ์อะไรก่อนหลังดี และตัวเล็ก หลังจากแก้ Monospace font ใน Firefox ทำให้ตัวใหญ่ขึ้น แต่ยังไม่ยอมจัดวรรณยุกต์ให้
11. Firefox กิน CPU และ Resource สูงมากจนระบบช้าไปหมดทำอะไรไม่ได้เลย เกือบต้องซื้อเครื่องใหม่ แต่หลังจากติดตั้ง Firefox ใหม่ โดยใช้ Ubuntu Software Center อาการช้าก็หายไป ขอบคุณพระเจ้าได้ใช้เครื่องเก่าต่อไป
12. เวลา Download เปิดเว็บไม่ได้เลยสงสัย Download มี Priority สูงเกินไป

General Setup

1. Installed Flash player is easy by few click.
2. add on for firefox to zoom NoSquit 2.0.3
3. add Thai keyboard and key indicator in panel
4. Set Dula monitor , in terminal add "sudo nvidia-settings"
5. Try to install Xe Ubuntu but it don't have screen save mode and there is one error in one file. Then I have to set up all over again.
6. Set Firefox to show my windows and tabs form last time.
7. Set the save session. System>Perference>Startup Application>option>Automatically remember running applications when logging out (There is no session menu item any more)
8. Create test user
9. Add Terminal and system monitor to the panel
10. Register to "Ubuntu One" but no time to set up
11. Create short cut for Gmail, Noklek mail, Yahoo mail.
12. Install Skype and aMSN but still can not use microphone
13. เปลี่ยนตัวสลับภาษาด้วย ~
14. ติดตั้ง angsima font
15. copy windows fonts from Program/WINDOWS/Fonts to usr/share/fonts/truetype/windows โดยใช้ sudo nautilus
16. Add Thai in firefox>Preferences>content>Languages
17. Set screen effect
18. ติดตั้ง VirtualBox OSE เพื่อลง WindowsXP คราวนี้ดีกว่าครั้งที่แล้วเพราะใช้ Internet ใน VirtualBox ได้ด้วยจะได้ใช้เว็บธนาคาร แต่ยังไม่เห็น Microphone แต่คิดวาน่าจะแก้ได้ง่ายกว่า Linux
19. Config Marble Mouse Trackballแต่ยัง Set ปุ่มกลางไม่ได้ ได้แต่ Scroll
20. Move bottom panel to top by Alt+Drag
21. Luckybackup to Synchronise file
22. Installed VLC Media Player

Web Programming Environment

1. Set up LAMP Server
2. Config Apache for http://test as http://tuxtweaks.com/2009/07/how-to-configure-apache-linux/
3. สร้าง Folder สำหรับทำเว็บใน ~ ชื่อ web จากนั้นสร้าง Link ของ web ใน /var/www เพื่อให้สามารถทำเว็บใน web แทนที่จะทำใน /var/www โดยไม่ต้องใช้สิทธของ root
4. Create folder to store all link related to PHP develop in Firefox
5. Set the hosting bookmark
6. Install and config FileZilla ดีใจที่เห็น FileZilla ใน Linux เสียที
7. Installed pivate Wiki for recording
